The 2015 “It’s Time To Heal” Conference was held in Kansas City, Missouri at the MCC-Penn Valley Community College on Friday, June 12th and Saturday, June 13, 2015. The conference was filled with Praise and Worship led by worship leader, Angela Morehead-Mugita and praise team. L.A. based national recording artist, Sada K. was the featured musical guest singing songs from her debut album “Long Story Short.”
Working from the ground-breaking book, “Fixing Broken: You Can Live Past Your Pain” conference attendees were encouraged to face the broken things in their lives and commit the weekend to working on their emotional/spiritual healing. No stone left unturned, attendees engaged in hands-on activities and focus-driven workshops.
Workshops included: “Overcoming Sexual Abuse” led by Moving4wards Ministries founder, Dionna Buford of St. Louis, MO and “Overcoming Domestic Violence” led by Women of Character founder and published author, Janice Butler of Kansas City, MO. Conference host, Kira McConico, sibling Shemeka Gantt and their father, Benny Hopkins led an insightful workshop on “Healing Broken Families”.
A powerful session addressing “Overcoming Church Hurt” was led by Pastor Dennis Rentie of Frisco, Texas, pastor of Point of Hope Church.
Jay’s Smoked BBQ was the Friday night food vendor. Saturday was complete with a complimentary breakfast sponsored by Panera Bread and a catered lunch. Vendors filled the halls offering many supplemental resources.
